Nimisha Desai is a feminist practitioner, trainer and mentor committed to Gender Equality. Nimisha’s extensive experience lies in conducting trainings across India, Europe and South Asia. Mentoring and Motivating youth for their active participation and engagement in social transformation is her core competency.
Nimisha is one of the founder members of feminist Organisation Olakh a space to share based in Vadodara,Gujarat.
Olakh is State 1st feminist Resource Centre established in 1993 with the aim to main streaming feminist literature to challenge patriarchal mindsets and discriminative practices against women. Resource center had begun with 60 books donated by women’s groups and friends from the movement. Today it has unique collection of 10, 000+books fiction and non-fiction, 1,000+ Posters, 300+ films, audio cassettes o ffeminist songs on women, by women and for women.
Nimisha and her team have translated feminist literature including books written by Kamla Bhasin on Patriarchy, Feminism, Gender, and Masculinity? in Gujarati language
