Nilima Devi is a renowned exponent of Kathak dance in the UK. With a rich background as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher, she has made significant contributions to the world of Indian classical dance.
Nilima Devi holds a Masters degree in Kathak dance from the Faculty of Performing Arts at M. S. University, Baroda. She received training from esteemed teachers such as Narendra Patel, Prafulla Oza, and Pandit Sunderlal Gangani.
For the past 34 years, she has been the Artistic Director of the Centre for Indian Classical Dance in Leicester. Through her dedicated work, she has trained numerous young Kathak dancers who have gone on to become successful performers, teachers, and choreographers at local, regional, national, and international levels.
Nilima Devi has choreographed several remarkable dance productions, including "Kathak Katha," "The Ugly Duckling," "Triangle," "Kathak Double Bill," and "Rainbow." Her innovative collaborations with contemporary choreographers have merged the traditional movement vocabulary of Kathak with the contemporary language of Western dance.

She continues to train aspiring dancers, teach Kathak, and foster the growth of Indian art forms through collaborations and consortiums like RASAA (Regional Association of South Asian Arts).
