Dr. Manoj Desai is a well known Spine Surgeon at Vadodara since last 37 years. He is a Gold Medalist at MBBS level and cleared M.S. Orthopaedics at first attempt. He is an ardent believer of joint family system and his love for Literature & Poetry reflects in his talks. He is the eldest son of Professor Dr. Daulatbhai (Dadaji) and Sarojiniben Desai, who was an eminent Writer, Orator & Educationist.
He is a Charter Member of Rotary Baroda Metro. He was President of his Club in 1988-89 & Governor of RI D 3060 in 1997-98. As DG, he has had a string of achievements under his belt.
He is one of the most sought after Speakers for Rotary in India. He is known for his innovative presentations like Muskaan, Aadat Se Ibadat Ki Aur, Kal, Aaj Aur Kal, Khayali Biryani, Neta, Life Line, Agneepath, Vajood, Future, Daud etc. totaling to more than 179 power point presentations.
He is the 1st Doctor from India to reach height of being Director on Rotary International Board from 2015-17.
His two pioneering community service contributions – one before he became a Governor, created a PULSE POLIO model in 1995 before advent of NID and second while he was a PDG in 2001 and 2002 led from front ROATARY’s response in rehabilitating 5 thousand+ victims of catastrophic earthquake in Gujarat; also reconstructing their lives by rebuilding two completely damaged villages with 410+ homes. His GUNG HO approach in facing any kind of challenges has destined him to be a Leader who keeps climbing walls!
He has served on many Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation assignments in different capacities as Chairman, Moderator, Member, Liaison Director, etc. Recently he is appointed as Member, Taipei Convention Committee & Chair-Technical Cadre of TRF. Recently he is appointed for 6 years on Operations Review Committee.
