Khevana Desai is an assistant Professor of Sociology at Mithibai college of Arts, Mumbai since 2008. A Ph.D. in Gender studies, she has been a visiting faculty at Research center for women's studies (SNDT) and at NMIMS's school of commerce and school of liberal Arts. An academician by profession, literature is her passion.
She pens poems, short stories and semi-literary essays in Gujarati and English on issues of social concern in General and concerns of women in particular.
She has presented papers at National and International Conferences as well as and delivered talks at IIT-B, AIWC, Gujarat Vishvakosh, Bhavan’s Cultural Centre, various Public platforms and audio-visual media. She has more than ten publications to her credit. Her multi-faceted traits also include being a trained singer, folk dancer and a compeer.
Dr. Vibhuti Patel (Ph. D. Economics) worked as Professor, Advanced Centre for Women's Studies, School of Development Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai from 1st July 2017 to 30th June 2020 under the Reemployment Programme of the Tata Trust. She retired from SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai where she was employed from October 2004 to June 2017.
Prof. Vibhuti Patel is Ph.D. in Economics, University of Mumbai. She was awarded Visiting Fellowship to the London School of Economics and Political Science from Association of Commonwealth Universities, UK in 1992-93.
She has authored and co-authored 12 books; edited and co-edited 9 books and contributed over 100 papers as chapters in various books edited by others. She has also authored and co-authored 34 research monographs and reports. Her research papers, comments, commentaries, and reviews have been published in the national as well as international academic journals.
Currently, she is board member of School of Gender and Development Studies of Indira Gandhi Open University (IGNOU). She is Governing Board member of Centre for Social Studies (Surat) and Gandhi Shikshan Bhavan (Mumbai) and Maniben Nanavati College for Women (Mumbai). She is an expert committee member of Academic Advisory Board of Indian Institute of Culture, Mumbai.
