Padma Shri Yazdi Karanjia is a distinguished personality with a diverse career in law, education, and the performing arts. He holds a B.Com, L.L.B., and D.Com degrees. Beginning his journey as a typist, he later became a Teaching Principal at The Cambay Institute of Commerce.

Alongside his professional pursuits, Yazdi Karanjia has a strong passion for acting. He was recognized as the Best Actor at the Inter State University Festival in 1958 and represented Gujarat University at the national level. In 1959, he founded the "Yazdi Karanjia Group," which has performed in various cities across India, as well as Singapore, the U.K., the U.S.A., and other locations. The group also engages in charitable activities for different institutions.

Yazdi Karanjia's contribution to radio plays is noteworthy, with nearly 300 broadcasts of plays written by him and Late Shri. C. C. Mehta from stations in Ahmedabad, Baroda, and Mumbai. The popular "Tapi Tate Tapidas" series has garnered much acclaim.

Throughout his illustrious career, Yazdi Karanjia has received numerous honors and awards. Some of the notable recognitions include the Outstanding Personality Award by Jaycees, Gujarat Gaurav Award by the Government of Gujarat, Swar Sadhna Ratna Award by Swar Sadhna Samiti Mumbai, All India Radio Award, Lifetime Achievement Award by the Academy of Cultural Activities and Arts Institute, Natraj Award, and World Theatre Day by South Gujarat University.
