Shri Dharmiklal Pandya, born in 1932 in Baroda, Gujarat, hails from a family of traditional Akhyanakaras. Under the guidance of his father, Shri Chunilal Vyas, he mastered the art of Akhyana from a young age. Recognized as a leading exponent of Akhyana, Shri Dharmiklal Pandya has played a pivotal role in its revival and popularization.
With extensive performances across the country, Shri Dharmiklal Pandya has established himself as one of the most eminent Akhyanakaras. He has also dedicated himself to training numerous students at his institute in Baroda.
Shri Dharmiklal Pandya has been honored with several accolades, including an award from the Gujarat State Sangeet Nritya Natya Akademi. His notable works include Gujarati Akhyana and Govindaguna Sagar.
In recognition of his remarkable contributions to the field of music and his efforts in enriching Akhyana, Shri Dharmiklal Pandya was honored with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Akhyana in 1983.
