Documentaries are a rich source of information and inspiration but now they can also serve the purpose of bringing to the fore certain highly-sensitive topics, and in engaging society. The conventional, old and boring narrative is gone. The idea is to make documentaries informative as well as entertaining by using personal narratives, which, in a way, engages the audiences. This is happening with filmmakers using documentaries as tools for social change by being direct and challenging the status quo in society and questioning government policies, among other issues.
All children's movies have a lesson. By seeing so many different situations on the screen, kids develop their critical thinking skills. They also stimulate their imagination and become more creative.
Movies are one of the best forms of entertainment. However, it may surprise you to hear that there are real benefits of movies for kids. Do you know what they are?
New films come out every year. Their main purpose is to entertain and make viewers have a good time. However, these stories also help kids learn morals and lessons about the world around them. Movies can help kids learn new words, languages, and values.

Vinod Ganatra, a recipient of The Liv Ullmann Peace Prize, Chicago has been active in the Film and Television Production from 1982. He has edited and directed about 400 Documentaries & News Reels. He has Produced 25 TV Programs for children & youth. He has also made three Children Films for CFSI and these films have won 23 International Awards.
He is now, a recipient of DADA SAHEB PHALKE – LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD conferred by “The Association fo Film & Video Editors”. He has several National & International Awards to his credit.
Widely travelled, he has also served as Jury at 63 National & International Film Festivals world over for last two decades. He served as Hon. Secretary for 4 years, 2 years as a Vice President & for 2 years as President of Indian Documentary Producer’s Association. He is member of Film Advisory Board of CBFC.
His Debut feature film HEDA-HODA (BLIND CAMEL) travelled about 58 International Film Festivals world over and won many Awards. His film HIDE-N-SEEK (Lukka Chhuppi) is listed in Limca Book of World Records as ‘First Children’s Feature Film Fully Shot At The Highest Altitude’ at Ladakh in Himalayas. Hide-N-Seek was also screened at about 21 International Film Festivals.
“Harun-Arun” his film in Gujarati based on Indo-Pak Boarder was world premiered at 26th Chicago Intl. Children’s Film Festival and conferred with prestigious “Liv Ullmann Peace Prize” Further he also won “Best Juvenile Audience Award” at Dhaka Intl. Film Festival in 2010.
Added to this, in Canada, HARUN-ARUN won 3 awards i.e. ‘CIFEJ PRIZE’ by professional Jury & ‘SPECIAL HUMANITY AWARD’ by Children Jury at Rimouski Intl. Film Festival, 2010 & ‘AUDIENCE AWARD‘ at Freeze Frame Festival in March 2011. His next achievement was receipt of ‘BEST COSTUME AWARD’ at Augsburg Intl. Children’s Film Festival in Germany in April, 2011. In October 2011, he further won ‘Golden Butterfly Award’ for HARUN-ARUN as ‘BEST ASIAN FILM’, at the Isfahan International Film Festival, Iran and latest Award is “SPECIAL JURY AWARD” at the 37th Gdynia International Film Festival, in Poland.
Formation of his NGO, Children’s Audio-Visual Educational Foundation, is the output of his working with Children for over 2 decades. CAVEF organizes workshops and screenings of films for children and young adults.

Vihang Mehta is associated with multiple drama activity for more then 35 years such as Drama writting, Drama Specialist, Lecturer, Writer, Director and Actor and many more into Drama (Play) activities.
His has achieved and received many awards :
• Shakespeare Award : “Excellence In Drama Development”
• Organized first “Gujarat Divas” (2003) during the “Vibrant Gujarat” event
• He was in jury at Bhavans (Mumbai) who organizes “Chitralekh Trianki Natya Spardha” for Gujarat and National level
• Jury for Gujarat Stat organized “Sangit Natak Academy” drama spardha
• He has Directed around 30 dramas, acted in more then 70 dramas.
He has written 19 Full length plays such as (all these started plays started from Mumbai under NIT) :

ગુજરાત સાહિત્ય ફોરમ દ્વારા આયોજીત વિનોદ. ગણાત્રા ના વકતવ્યે ડોકયુમેન્ટરી અને બાળ ફિલ્મો ની દુનિયામાં એવી લટાર મારવી કે સ્થળ, સમય નુ ભાન વકતા, મોડરેટર કે પ્રેક્ષકગણને ન રહયું.
અધ્યક્ષ કોકિલા બહેન સમયના બહુ પાબંધી પણ વાતો ના ઘૂઘવતા સમુદ્ર ને નાથવા અસમર્થ બન્યા ને વાતો ને તેની ધારામાં વહેવા દીધી.'મૈં સમય હું ' ઉકિત ના વકતા શ્રી હરેશ. ભીમાણી ની હાજરી પરિબળ હતી. વિહંગ ભાઈ જેવા મોડરેટરે કંઇ કેટલીય અવ્યક્ત વાતોને વિનોદ ભાઇ પાસેથી જાહેરમાં વ્યક્ત કરાવી. ખૂબ ખૂબ આભાર વિહંગ ભાઈ.
વિનોદ ભાઇ તો ખૂબ નમ્ર, વિવેકી અને સાલસ હોવાથી તેમની સિધ્ધિ તો સ્વમુખે ભાગ્ય જ સાંભળવા મળતા પણ વિહંગભાઇ તો નાટયકાર ને લેખક ને સાથે સાથે વ્યાખ્યાતા પછી પૂછવાનું શું? બાળ ફિલ્મો 'હેડા બોડા ', હારુન અરુણ અને લુકકા છુપ્પી ' જેવી આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય ફિલ્મો ના ને દાદા સાહેબ ફાળકે ' એવોર્ડ ના વિજેતા ની શરૂઆત ના સંઘર્ષ ની કહાણી ખરેખર દિલ ને હચમચાવી મૂકે તેવી હતી. સામાન્ય કલાકૅ ની નોકરી માંથી એક રોંગ નંબર થી થયેલી સફળતા ની કેડી પર માંડેલા પગરણની કહાણી એક thrill ફિલ્મ ની વાર્તા થી જરાય ઓછી આંકી શકાય નહીં.
વિનોદ ભાઇ એ પહેલાં ધોરણમાં 6 વષૅના ની ઉંમરે બાળ ગીત સાયકલ રૂપાળી ગીત વાર્ષિક ઉત્સવ માં ગાયેલું. તે દરમ્યાન ત્રણ પૈંડા ની સાયકલ સાથે કેમેરા દ્વારા પાડેલ ફોટા એ કૂતુહલ થયું કે આ રીતે ફોટો કેવી પડે તે જિજ્ઞાસા વૃત્તિ ને લીધે કેમેરાની દુનિયા માં પગરણ મંડાયા. ફિલ્મ માં એડીટીંગ કેટલું મહત્વ નું છે તેની જાણ તો તેમના વકતવ્ય મારફતે જ થઇ.તે શીખવા તેમણે કરેલી મહેનત ને ધગશનુ પરિણામ આપણી નજર સમક્ષ છે. લગભગ 400 જેટલી ડોકયુમેન્ટરી બનાવી. સરકાર નો તેના પરનો હતોત્સાહ પણ જણાવ્યો. Commercial film અને Add ના જમાનામાં ડોકયુમેન્ટરી નું મહત્વ રહ્યું નથી, પણ સમાજ માં સ્વચ્છ સંદેશ ડોકયુમેન્ટરી દ્વારા જ આપી શકાય છે. તે બાબત નું પ્રેક્ષકગણને જ્ઞાન કરાવ્યું. એડીટીંગ ની ઝીણામાં ઝીણી વિગતો જણાવી. સારા એડીટર નેગેટીવ માં થી પોઝીટીવ ફિલ્મ નું નિમૉણ કરી શકે છે તે બખૂબી જણાવ્યું.
લગભગ 89 ફિલ્મોમાં જ્યુરી તરીકે કામગીરી બજાવનાર વિનોદભાઇ ને મળવાનો , વાતો સાંભળવાનો જે લહાવો મળ્યો તે અમારાં સૌના માટે અવિસ્મરણીય છે.
અંતે આ સમય અમને મળતો રહે તેવી જ સમય ને વિનંતી.
