GSF is a non profit, non political , non religious organization which does online events to preserve, enhance and promote. Gujarati language through local chapters around the world.
We believe that Gujarati language with a rich cultural background has potential to attract next generation of Gujaratis and non Gujaratis. We will like to leverage our global experience, network of local and global Gujaratis and digital technology expertise to achieve our objectives.

Gujarati Sahitya Forum after getting great response with our membership is now launching series of competitions at global level. Short Storytelling is our first competition. We are excited to launch this award through our expanding number of chapters. Our Ambassadors of various chapters and this website can guide about participating in this competition.
Storytelling brings language learning alive and creates a participatory and immersive experience that allows to enjoy hearing the language in a dynamic, sometimes stylistic and entertaining way. Participation using key vocabulary and phrases can create an awareness of rhythm and structure

This competition is for Gujarati language.
Yes, you can use some words in English. However, remember, judges will be using best effective us of Gujarati language as one of the criteria. As you can understand this competition is for use and promotion of Gujarati language.
Each participant will provide a 3-minute video of story. At the start of the video please mention your name, city and country of your residence.
We are taking advantage of digital technology to create a virtual stage. Each participant will follow two simple steps.
- Click Apply and fill up the form. Once we receive the form and if qualified we will send you a zoom video link (we will record your kathan).
- Once you receive the zoom video recording link, you will open the zoom video and record your video. You will be able to record the story only one time. It is like participating on a stage in physical event where you get one chance. You can practice on your own and recording the best version of your story on zoom video recording provided by us.
The whole idea of storytelling is that story should be told in your own words with related performance. You cannot use substitute.
The story has to be original. We will like you to be creative and present your story for the first time to our judges and eventually our global audience
We want participants to be himself/herself. We would not like to have distraction of visuals or props.

There are three judges which has been selected based on their knowledge, experience, reputation and eagerness to judge all stories. They will be using following 7 criteria for judging your story:
- Structure of the story
- Content (Plot)
- Pronunciation and intonation
- Presentation and performance
- Correctness of Grammar
- Appropriate selection of Title of the story.
- Timing as you need to finish in 3 minutes
Each criterion has 0-10 points, totaling 70 possible points for one judge and with three judges, total possible points to win are 210.
The decision of the judges is final and cannot be changed, further discussion on judgment will not be entertained
The Awards will go to three top winners. Each of the first three winner will get Gujarat Laghu Verta Katha Spardha, certificate which will be digitally made and transmitted to you.
The winners will be invited to our main event, where you will meet the judges and your stories will be broadcasted.
The winners name will be forwarded in a press release to various global media partners.
The winners will have an opportunity to play a major role in future competitions.
